Bigfoot Betty September News

We just wrapped up August, and we’ve got some BIG news! We’re excited to share a major step forward in our mission. Bigfoot Betty has joined forces with Pink Path 365, a non-profit dedicated to keeping cancer awareness, education, and support moving forward 365 days a year.

Pink Path 365 gives the Trailblazer Tote program a permanent home and opens doors a small brand can’t open alone. Bigfoot Betty isn’t going anywhere. She’s just got backup now.

WARRIOR WATCH

This section is dedicated to raising awareness, sharing knowledge, and honoring the strength of those affected by different forms of cancer. Because knowing the signs can save lives, and supporting the fighters is what Bigfoot Betty does best.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for kids in the United States, and it still receives a small slice of federal research funding. For more information, visit acco.org.

September is also Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, and covers 5 separate diseases: ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar. There’s no single screening test that catches all 5. Knowing what’s normal for your own body, and speaking up when it changes, is still one of the strongest tools you’ve got. For more information, visit foundationforwomenscancer.org.

September is also Blood Cancer Awareness Month. Someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer about every 3 minutes. For more information, visit bloodcancerunited.org.

World Lymphoma Awareness Day is September 15th. Lymphoma is the most common blood cancer, and the most frequent first sign is a swollen lymph node in the neck, armpit, or groin that doesn’t hurt at all. For more information, visit lymphoma.org.

September also recognizes ovarian, uterine, prostate, and thyroid cancers.

Until next time...

Still here? Thank you for following the journey with Bigfoot Betty this month. We’re grateful for every footprint you leave with us, whether it’s a like, a share, a purchase, or a prayer. 👣

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s the biggest stretch of trail we walk all year. We’ve been working hard to make the 2nd annual Stomp the Lot event even bigger than last year.

Let’s keep blazing trails and spreading hope. We’ll be back next month with more news from Bigfoot Betty.

With hope, heart, and sass,
Bigfoot Betty
